Referees Strike Over Insurance and Stadium Security Concerns

Breaking-News

Reports indicate that referees are on strike due to the lack of insurance coverage and inadequate security measures at football matches under the Seychelles Football Federation. Referees are demanding proper insurance to ensure their safety and well-being during matches, as well as increased security presence at stadiums.

The Premier League is currently on pause due to the international break but Championship and League 1 fixtures have been postponed until a resolution can be reached.

A heated derby match took place on Praslin last Saturday between La Passe FC and Foresters FC, but the game was marred by an unfortunate incident. During the match, a fight erupted between the main referee and the goalkeeper of La Passe FC, resulting in a temporary suspension of the game. Police were called to the stadium, and order was eventually restored and the match continued. Foresters FC emerged victorious with a 4-0 win.
