Seysoccer’s latest analysis of the Seychelles Premier League unveils the significant influence of foreign players. With an astounding 63.11% of all goals scored by foreigners, this study sheds light on their crucial contributions and their impact on the league’s dynamics. Stay tuned for more intriguing insights from our ongoing research.
To conduct this study, Seysoccer removed goals scored by foreign players from the goalscorer boards and recalculated the goal difference (GF:GA) and total points for each team. The results provided interesting insights into the league standings and the influence of foreign players.
At the top of the Seychelles Premier League, Foresters FC emerged as the leaders. They achieved the highest goal difference of 9:3 and would have gained two additional points, strengthening their position. Meanwhile, Saint Louis would have been in second place but with 3 fewer points, trailing Foresters FC by 5 points. Red Star DF would have benefited from 4 additional points, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the title.
Lightstars, Saint Michel United, Bazar Brothers, and Cote d’Or would maintain their respective positions but with fewer points than they currently hold. Notably, Cote d’Or would still be searching for their first win, with a record of 0-6-1 and a goal difference of 1:2 in the absence of foreigners. The impact of foreign players on La Passe FC from La Digue island would drop them five positions, placing them 8th in the league. Instead of 16 points they would have 6 points only! This highlights the effectiveness of their scouting team in selecting impactful foreign signings. Well done scouting team!
An intriguing statistic reveals that the average number of goals per match with foreign players is 3.21, creating an exciting atmosphere for fans. However, without foreign players, the average drops significantly to 1.21 goals per match. This emphasizes the potential lack of excitement, with teams like Cote d’Or averaging fewer than one goal per 90 minutes of play.
In conclusion, while statistics provide valuable insights, it is essential to remember that they are merely numbers and do not capture the full essence of sports and football.
As the saying goes, statistics may tell a story, but they do not always reflect the true nature of the game.
