CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2023 Referee Selection Leaves Seychelles in Shock

Breaking-News

The Confederation Africaine de Football, commonly known as CAF, has recently unveiled the official list of match officials for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023. The comprehensive roster consists of 68 highly experienced officials from various African nations, who have previously officiated in multiple CAF international competitions.

Among the 68 officials, there are 26 referees, 30 assistant referees, and 12 VAR referees who will oversee the tournament scheduled to take place in Cote d’Ivoire from 13th January to 11th February. These officials have been chosen based on their extensive expertise and track record in officiating high-profile matches.

To ensure the highest standards of officiating, all selected referees are required to arrive in Cote d’Ivoire on 5th January 2024. They will undergo a comprehensive refresher course that encompasses both physical and theoretical assessments to reaffirm their capabilities and readiness for the tournament.

It is noteworthy, however, that despite this diverse range of officials representing different African nations, no Seychellois referees have been included in the selected panel for the upcoming competition.
