Two Seychellois girls have embarked on a journey to Singapore for football trials. Pascalina Moustache and Reena Esther, nominated for the Sports Awards of the Year, have received the opportunity with the help and recommendation of their national team coach.

Before their departure, we spoke with Pascalina Moustache, the national team captain, who expressed her disbelief and excitement. “I couldn’t believe it when I heard about the trial in Singapore! It felt like a dream come true. My goal now is to make it happen, sign a contract, and prove myself. I also hope to pave the way for more girls from our country. I want to thank our national team coach, my family, and all the coaches who supported me throughout my career.

We also had a chance to speak with Reena Esther, who expressed her enthusiasm. “I feel amazing! We are proud to be the first female footballers from Seychelles to have this opportunity. I will give my best efforts to secure a contract and join a club there. For the next two weeks, my focus will be on working hard to make my dreams come true!

The Seysoccer team wishes Pascalina and Reena the best of luck in their trials and hopes they succeed in making their mark in the professional football world. This achievement is momentous for the two girls and a significant milestone for women’s football in Seychelles.

We also spoke with Chris Yip-Au, former Singapore footballer and the coach of the Seychelles Women’s National Team, who thinks it’s a fantastic opportunity for both players. She believes this trial will let them play against tougher opponents and show off their skills.

I think it is an amazing opportunity for both players. This trial would provide them with the opportunity to earn a spot to compete against higher level opponents. I hope with this exposure from the trial, it would challenge them to elevate their performance and improve their skills. We are all very proud of them. The ball is in their field now. We wish them the very best and hope that they do their best and earn their spot.

It is a testament to their talent and dedication that they have been nominated for the Sports Awards of the Year for football players.

Their journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring young athletes, showing them that dreams can come true with hard work and determination.
