Exploring FIFA’s Latest Rankings: Unveiling the Lower-Ranked Teams

FIFA released its latest rankings for African national teams. Here’s a look at the 10 lowest-ranked nations. Argentina is still the top-ranked team, while Morocco is Africa’s strongest. South Africa is 10th in Africa but dropped to 59th overall. So, who are the lowest-ranked African teams?


According to FIFA, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) is 148th overall and 44th in Africa. Lesotho is 149th and 45th in Africa. Liberia is 46th, South Sudan is 47th, and Chad is 48th. Mauritius and Sao Tome and Principe are 49th and 50th, respectively. Djibouti is ranked 51st, with their last win against Pakistan in 2023. Seychelles is 52nd, having lost 9-0 to Ivory Coast in 2023. Finally, Somalia is the lowest-ranked team in Africa.

These rankings show where these teams stand in international football. Though they may have lower rankings, they continue to work hard and aim for improvement.
