West Boys continued their impressive start to the Seychelles Championship season with a convincing 6-0 victory over Mavericks at Stad Popiler on Wednesday. The win moves West Boys into third place in the table, level on points with Baie Lazare.
Mavericks, who were tipped as potential title contenders before the season began, have struggled so far. They are currently close to the bottom with just three points from four matches.
The match was effectively over at halftime, with West Boys leading 4-0. Neil Belle scored a hat-trick in the first half, while Sah-eed Victor added another goal. In the second half, Anelka Bistoe and Christopher Larue extended West Boys’ lead to six goals.
The victory was a further indication of West Boys’ quality and their potential to challenge for the championship. Mavericks, on the other hand, will need to improve their performances significantly if they are to avoid relegation.
