PTL Bazar Brothers 1-1 St. Louis | Seychelles Premier League | Round 14

PL-Match-Report

PTL Bazar Brothers entered the 2025 year in superb form, demonstrating that they have picked the right foreign players to replace the previous ones. One standout has been Banse, who has added a fresh dynamic to the team.

St. Louis FC, the defending champions, have struggled recently due to injuries. Coach Gavin Jeanne has rarely had a full squad available this season, which has clearly affected their results.

The game began positively for PTL as Alfred scored in the 3rd minute, giving them an early lead. Throughout the first half, Bazar Brothers maintained control, limiting St. Louis to few opportunities. Alvin Michel, the Bazar goalkeeper, was rarely troubled as his team dominated possession and created chances.

The second half told a different story. St. Louis came out with renewed energy, applying significant pressure in an attempt to equalise. Although PTL had some chances on the counter-attack, they could not find the net. Every time Gervais Waye-Hive surged forward, it felt dangerous for Bazar Brothers, as he appeared to be the engine driving St. Louis‘s attack.

As the match progressed, the tension grew. PTL aimed to protect their lead and escape the relegation zone, while St. Louis pushed hard for a goal, with their fans growing restless. A controversial moment came when the officials indicated only three additional minutes at the end of the match, leading to protests from the St. Louis bench who felt more time was warranted.

In a dramatic finish, St. Louis won a corner kick in the closing moments. Ahmed Maurice, who had been overlooked in the box, received the ball and scored, bringing the match to a 1-1 draw. Both teams left feeling they needed more than just a point. St. Louis required the draw to keep their title hopes alive, while Bazar Brothers wanted all three points to momentarily escape the relegation zone.

In the end, while St. Louis celebrated their late equaliser, Bazar Brothers also acknowledged the importance of a point in their tight relegation battle. They hit the woodwork two or three times during the match and could have secured a win, particularly in the first half.
