Northern Dynamo 3-2 Real Maldive | Seychelles Premier League | Round 14

PL-Match-Report

Many observers already consider Northern Dynamo a part of next season’s Seychelles Championship, but the team remains determined. They consistently show resilience on the pitch, even when results do not go their way. In this match, they managed to secure all three points, a much-needed boost as time runs out in the season. Their fighting spirit may be their biggest asset as they strive to avoid relegation.

In the first half, Real Maldive had a golden opportunity to take the lead when Jocelyn hit the post after exploiting a mistake in the Dynamo defence. This near miss would prove to be a turning point as both teams battled for control.

The second half began with Raj missing a significant chance for Dynamo, an error that could have cost them dearly. However, just a few minutes later, in the 55th minute, Raj scored the opening goal, putting Dynamo ahead 1-0. The lead was short-lived as Jocelyn equalised for Real Maldive just 11 minutes later, marking his tenth goal of the season.

The back-and-forth continued when Raj responded with his second goal 11 minutes later, restoring Dynamo’s lead at 2-1. Despite being one of the oldest players in the squad, Rajomanana is proving he can still compete at a high level, currently sitting sixth in the league’s top scorers list.

Jocelyn struck again just two minutes later, lobbing the ball into the net to make it 2-2, showcasing his skill and determination. The match reached its peak in the 81st minute when Aldo Dufrene scored a stunning scissor kick, assisted by a teammate’s equally impressive scissor kick. This moment could very well be the goal of the season.

Northern Dynamo finds itself in a precarious position. They must continue to secure wins, especially with a challenging match against La Passe FC on La Digue island approaching. A victory there would bring them within four points of La Passe. The excitement is palpable as fans look forward to this crucial encounter.
