In a thrilling encounter at Stad Popiler on Wednesday, West Boys United and Glacis battled it out to a 2-2 draw.
The first half saw Glacis take the lead with goals from Sandro Estrale in the 18th minute and Claudio Laira in the 48th minute. However, West Boys United made a comeback in the second half with goals from Yanique Constance in the 81st minute and Eldon Alexis in the 94th minute.
Glacis faced an unexpected setback as they were held to a draw at Stad Popiler, a result that caught their members off guard. The draw gives Beau Vallon an opportunity to extend their lead by five points over Glacis. Furthermore, teams below Glacis now have the chance to catch up or even surpass them in the league standings.
Despite the disappointment, Glacis can take solace in the continued goal-scoring prowess of Sandro Estrale. His strike in yesterday’s match marked his 12th goal of the season, placing him at the top of the League 1’s Top Scorers list.
