Rangers recorded their second victory of the Seychelles League 1 season with a 3-1 win over Mont Buxton United at Stad Popiler on Tuesday. The victory moves Rangers six points clear of the bottom and six points behind the playoff spots.
Mont Buxton United, meanwhile, remain winless after four matches, having suffered their fourth defeat of the season. They are one of only a few teams in the league with zero points.
The match began with a shock as Jean-Luc Hoareau put Mont Buxton United ahead in the opening minutes. However, Rashid Marie leveled the score in the 42nd minute, sending the teams into halftime at 1-1.
In the second half, a crucial own goal by Niel Souffie gave Rangers the lead. Laurent Confiance then sealed the victory with a goal in the 53rd minute. Mont Buxton United finished the match with four yellow cards, reflecting their frustration at failing to secure their first point of the season.
