Rovers 2-0 Tigers | Seychelles Championship

On 7 November 2024, Rovers faced Tigers at Stad Linite in a match that ended with a score of 2-0 in favour of Rovers. The first half saw both teams struggle to find the back of the net despite several opportunities. The match began with Rovers showing control and applying early pressure on Tigers, but they were unable to convert their dominance into goals. Tigers also had their chances, but Jerome Dingwall was in exceptional form, stopping everything that came his way.

The second half brought some changes for both teams. Tigers introduced Kim Tak-Hue, while Rovers opted for 16-year-old Shamal Bonnelame to add fresh legs to their attack. The half started similarly to the first, with both teams vying for control and creating chances. However, it was in the 68th minute that the deadlock was finally broken. Shu’aib Ernesta took advantage of a mistake by the Tigers goalkeeper, who dropped the ball. Shu’aib was quick to react, collecting the loose ball and placing it into the net to give Rovers a 1-0 lead.

Just six minutes later, Rovers doubled their advantage. Following a corner kick, Norvil Gaspard had several attempts to shoot, but the Tigers defence blocked him at every turn. In the chaos that ensued, Remy De Ketelaere managed to seize the opportunity, collecting the ball and scoring to make it 2-0. This goal solidified Rovers‘ control over the match.

Although the scoreline suggested a comfortable win for Rovers, Tigers continued to fight. They created several good chances, even hitting the post as they sought a way back into the game. However, once again, Jerome Dingwall proved to be a wall for Rovers, making crucial saves throughout the match. His performance earned him the title of Man of the Match, as he successfully kept a clean sheet against a persistent Tigers attack.

This victory is significant for Rovers, as they secure three important points in their campaign.
