Real Maldive 1-1 Foresters | Seychelles Premier League | Round 15 (VIDEO)

In the Seychelles Premier League Round 14 match, Real Maldive faced Foresters at Stad Linite, resulting in a 1:1 draw. The first half ended goalless, with both teams showing solid performances. The fixture promised intense competition, particularly on the wings.

Before kick-off, much discussion centred on the battles expected on the flanks, specifically between Adele of Real Maldive and Brandon Labrosse from Foresters. However, it was Marlon Rose who made a significant impact after being brought on in the first half to replace the injured Adele. The first half was tightly contested, with neither side able to seize control. Warren Mellie came closest to breaking the deadlock when he directed a header straight at the Foresters’ goalkeeper.

The second half saw Foresters take the lead through a well-placed free kick by Jean Tigana. Following a foul just outside the penalty area, the fans called for a red card against the Real Maldive defender, but the referee opted for a yellow. The decision sparked frustration among the supporters, but Tigana’s strike calmed the crowd as Foresters led 1-0.

After conceding, Real Maldive responded strongly, dominating possession and applying pressure, especially down their left wing where Marlon Rose was a constant threat. During all those attacks by Real Maldive, Foresters had a big chance when Brandon Labrosse found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Martrid Adrienne.

As Real Maldive pressed for an equaliser, Josip Ravignia emerged as a key player. His playmaking ability shone through, and he consistently found space despite facing multiple defenders. In the 76th minute, he took a direct shot from a free kick that found the back of the net, bringing the score to 1-1.

In the closing moments, a potential handball in the Foresters’ box went unpunished, as only a couple of Real Maldive players appealed for a penalty. Referee Rio Dubignon officiated the match well, earning praise for his performance alongside his assistants.

Ultimately, a point each felt fair, with both teams now looking towards their future matches. The pressure will be on St. Michel, who are set to face Light Stars, knowing the competition remains fierce at the bottom of the table.
