SFF Cup Preliminary Round Concludes with Surprises and Qualifications

The SFF Cup Preliminary Round, featuring clubs with the lowest national rating, has come to a thrilling conclusion. With only eight clubs participating in this stage, the draw marked the beginning of the journey towards the prestigious SFF Cup. As the tournament progresses, more clubs will join the draws in subsequent rounds.

Last year, La Passe FC from the La Digue island emerged as the victors of the SFF Cup. Their triumph secured them a coveted spot in the CAF Confederations Cup, offering an opportunity to compete at the continental level. As the new edition of the SFF Cup kicks off, teams are eager to replicate La Passe FC’s success and earn a chance at continental glory.

The recent matches in the Preliminary Round witnessed both surprises and notable qualifications. Mont Buxton, Beau Vallon, Mavericks, and Baie Lazare showcased their strength and skill, securing their places in the next round of the competition. These teams displayed determination and resilience, overcoming their opponents and advancing to the next stage of the SFF Cup.

However, the journey ended in disappointment for Anse Royale, Bel Ombre, Rangers and Glacis, as they were unable to progress further in the tournament. Despite their efforts, they fell short in their respective matches, bidding farewell to their SFF Cup aspirations for this season.

As the SFF Cup continues to unfold, the remaining teams will intensify their efforts, each vying for a chance to lift the coveted trophy and secure their spot in the CAF Confederations Cup. The competition promises more exciting clashes and fierce battles as the clubs inch closer to their dreams of glory.
