Northern Dynamo 2-4 La Passe | Seychelles Premier League | Round 6

PL-Match-Report

On 9 November 2024, Northern Dynamo hosted La Passe at Stad Linite, where they suffered a 4-2 defeat. This match was critical for both teams, particularly for La Passe, who were eager to bounce back after dropping points the previous week against Light Stars. For Northern Dynamo, the situation was dire as they still sought their first points of the season, facing the looming threat of relegation from the Seychelles Premier League.

The pressure was palpable from the outset, and La Passe capitalised on an early error by Northern Dynamo‘s goalkeeper, Liam Esther. In the 9th minute, Esther dropped the ball, allowing Laurent Marie to score, giving La Passe a 1-0 lead. Northern Dynamo struggled to respond, and in the 21st minute, Rinho scored a second goal for La Passe. Although the linesman initially flagged the goal for offside, the decision was overturned after a consultation, which proved to be the correct call.

With their backs against the wall, Northern Dynamo found a glimmer of hope when Rajomanana scored in the 27th minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1. However, La Passe quickly restored their two-goal cushion when Fabrice scored in the 32nd minute, making it 3-1 at halftime. Despite the scoreline, Northern Dynamo had shown moments of promise, particularly with the return of Rajomanana, who had begun to influence the game with his goals and assists.

The second half saw Northern Dynamo take more control of the ball, applying pressure on La Passe‘s goalkeeper, Dave Mussard. They came close to scoring several times, hitting the crossbar and missing a crucial chance when Rajomanana shot from close range, only to be denied by a remarkable save from Mussard. The frustration among the home fans grew as their team failed to convert these opportunities.

Man of the Match is Rinho, who scored 2 goals and controlled the game for 90 minutes, even while being marked by 5 players at times.

In the 74th minute, Rajomanana scored again, bringing the score to 3-2. Just when it seemed Northern Dynamo might complete a comeback, Rinho struck for La Passe in the 78th minute, securing the final score at 4-2.

Looking ahead, Northern Dynamo will face St. Michel in their next match. With their performance improving, they will be keen to secure their first points of the season. A defeat in that match could push them closer to relegation, as they would be five points behind PTL Bazar Brothers. The pressure remains high, but there are signs that Northern Dynamo is regaining its form, which could lead to a turnaround in their season.
